The HVL-F7S flash strobe folds down against the top of the lens mount when not in use, keeping the overall package more compact. Unfortunately, the accessory port door sticks out when the flash is attached, so you wouldn't want to store the camera in a bag this way lest you accidentally break the door off. The flash is automatically disabled when folded.
The HVL-F7S flash is made for use with the Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 digital cameras. This tiny external flash will provide you with light coverage that is needed when shooting in low light with your NEX camera. The HVL-F7S flash offers just enough light to cover the necessary range that your camera lens covers. When the flash is folded down flat against the lens, it is automatically disabled from use.
